Money for babies Lori Gill (center) of Windermere Property Management Lori Gill and Associates donates $1,500 to Theo Montgomery and Helen Routon of Eastside Baby Corner, a volunteer-run organization serving families in need since 1990. EBC collects and purchases children’s items, distributing them, free of charge, through local social service agencies. The $1,500 donation will be earmarked for the Top Ten Item wish list, which will help increase EBC’s buying powers. Contributed

Soccer

Youth league – Registration for the Issaquah Parks boys and girls soccer league has started and will continue through February. The program is for youngsters kindergarten through the sixth grade. Call 837-3346.

Sneakers & Socks – Issaquah Parks offers classes for ages 6-8 on the fundamental skills of soccer. Classes run from April 6-May 25, 4-5 p.m., Tuesdays at the Community Center. Call 837-3350.

Swimming

Basketball

Wrestling

Instruction – Sammamish Plateau Wrestling Club teaches freestyle and Greco wrestling techniques to youngsters K-12, and has a summer camp. Purim party ‘Purim In Israel’ is Chabad of the Central Cascades’ creative twist on their traditional Purim party at 4 p.m. Feb. 28 at Blakely Hall in the Issaquah Highlands. The celebration will begin with the Megillah reading (Scroll of Ester), followed by a buffet dinner of Israeli delicacies, entertainment, Israeli music, hamentashen and children’s program. All are welcome to join regardless of affiliation or background. Pre-event registration with EZ-Pass Entry is $15 for adults and $10 for children (ages 3-12). Just Between Friends hosts a three-day Spring Event, a community consignment event that lets families earn cash quickly by selling new and gently used items they have outgrown. Families can also find great deals on thousands of items, including children’s and maternity clothing, baby equipment, furniture, DVDs, toys and much more. The event is at Pickering Barn, 1730 10th Ave. N.W., from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Feb. 26, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Feb. 27 and from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Feb. 28. Admission is $2 Feb. 26 only and free the other two days.

Scottish Ceilidh dancing is from 7-9 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Issaquah Valley Senior Center, 75 N.E. Creek Way.

Come watch the University of Washington and Washington State University in the lacrosse version of the Apple Cup at 7 p.m. Feb. 28 at Eastside Catholic High School, 232 228th Ave. S.E., Sammamish. Admission is free. Both teams feature local high school talent playing at the collegiate level.

Curves of Issaquah is participating in its annual Food Drive during the month of March by collecting perishable items and monetary donations for the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank. Members who donate a full grocery bag or a minimum of $30 cash receive a reusable Curves grocery freezer bag. Nonmembers who do likewise receive a waiver on the cost of joining.
